After graduating in Philosophy in Milan, Alessandro moved to London, where he earned a Master’s degree in Documentary Practice. His first documentary short ‘Generation In Transit’ was broadcast by BBC Three. After Brexit, he moved to Berlin, where he became the author and cameraman of numerous prime-time reportages for the public channel ARTE and Spiegel TV. His works explore social phenomena such as the migration crisis and the resurgence of nationalisms in Europe. ‘Una Giornata di Silvia M.’ was awarded by Torino Piemonte Film Commission and ‘Pizza, Democracy & The Little Prince’ screened by the UN headquarter and won international awards. He also worked as cinematographer for Netflix documentaries and as story producer on branded documentaries for BBC Storyworks. Some of his work was published on 3Sat, The Guardian, ZDF, SRF and NZZ. He is a Logan Nonfiction and IDFAcademy fellow.
