Saila Huusko is a conflict resolution and media production professional. Work related to social justice and peacebuilding has been a part of her life for years; she has worked at an emergency food shelf, volunteered at a domestic violence support hotline, and recorded events with the local community television in Vermont, US. Previously, she contributed to the founding of an international school in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and worked at a human rights center in Santiago, Chile. Her media experience ranges from writing for various publications in Finland to working at a PBS documentary production company in Washington, D.C. Since 2010, Saila has worked at CMI, a conflict resolution NGO founded by Martti Ahtisaari. At CMI, she is responsible for video production. Saila holds a BA in political science and film and media culture from Middlebury College, and has additional training in conflict resolution and facilitation. Her long-term goal is to dedicate herself to film making full-time.
