Ieva Ūbele
Baltic Balkan Productions (LV)

Through my own successes and failures, I have learned that it is crucial to understand who we are and what motivates us. These are the cornerstones in choosing the partners, both creatively and personally, making strategies for our projects, be it a film industry or any other business, and navigating the complexity of the everchanging world we live in.

A Northerner by upbringing, a Southerner in my soul, I combine understanding of people and cultures with the ability to structure, take decisions and solve problems. Coming from a small nation and speaking one of the oldest Indo-European languages as my native tongue, I have always been fascinated by other cultures. I studied international relations and social anthropology and have graduated from the business school. My various work experiences – from being a creative producer to running an artist residency, fromma

managing organic cattle farm to overseeing 100 public service employees at the local municipality, from editing photo albums to overseeing large construction projects have equipped me with enormous amount of knowledge about various industries and about people’s behaviours, their needs and the way they do (or do not) express them.

What we can talk about:

  • Who would be the best partners for your project and why,
  • Understanding various industry players and their needs,
  • Navigating cultural and generational differences within your team and beyond it,
  • Structuring your next steps and making short-term and long-term plan for your project,
  • Realistic look at your budget and financial plan,
  • Understanding and accepting your anxiety and failures and learning from them,
  • Why are you making this project?
