Yango González is a Colombian filmmaker based in Berlin. He studied film direction in Colombia and Brazil, countries where he shot his first fiction films. He participated in two awarded features being part of the international group of filmmakers CollabFeature; “The Owner” with 25 directors in 13 countries around the world and “Train Station” with 40 directors in 25 countries. Film awarded as best feature film in festivals like the Los Angeles diversity film festival, Miami film festival and the Calcuta international cult film festival. As Yango moved to Europe, he started to explore non-fictional narration in form of short documentaries and essay films, that he has shot mainly in France, Germany, Spain and Czech Republic. “In praise of freedom” is his the most authentic exploration of his personal essay language, based in topics that go beyond borders.
