Guri Gunnes Oppegård

Guri G. Oppegård is a Norwegian journalist and documentary filmmaker living in northern Norway. Oppegård has had various roles in several major productions, including the historical 5-episode series "Oil" (NRK, 2009) and in the documentary program Vårt Lille Land (TV 2, ongoing). She has more than 25 years of experience as a journalist in TV and newspapers, and has worked in local, regional and national media houses. Oppegård tells close stories about people, who face challenges in their lives, often due to changed conditions in the society around them. By getting to know the characters, their lives and aspirations, Oppegård wants to give the viewer a more complex understanding of the present, and challenge adopted performances. Oppegård has a master's degree in marine biology, and is thematically concerned with issues related to the environment, climate and energy. How we humans meet these extensive challenges in everyday life is a recurring theme in Oppegård's work.
