Umut Vedat

Umut Vedat, traveled for more than 10 years as a photojournalist and documentary filmmaker, collaborated with NGOs such as Greenpeace, Diakonie, Heinrich Böll Foundation, La Via Campesina by working on the topics of discrimination, minority situations, cultural interactions, and environmental subjects. Umut had exhibitions in Istanbul, Yerevan, Tbilisi, San Francisco, Siem Reap. His photos were published in such media like Guardian, Le monde. Umut directed several dance films, short films and a feature-length documentary Kara Atlas (2016) for Greenpeace, screened at Cop21, Paris. Umut obtained a Master of Arts degree in cinematography joint program by Szfe Budapest, BFM Tallinn, IADT Dublin and he is currently based in Tallinn, Estonia.
