Akvilė (b. 1987) is a graduate of Eurodoc 2015, holds a BA in Literature and MA in Film Directing.
Since 2015 working with film production and exhibitions, closely engaged with prominent Lithuanian contemporary artists. At the end of 2017, Akvile founded a film production company "Artišokai" and made 3 short documentary films: The Daytime is not For Me, A Piece for Two Hands and Windows. These films won 4 awards, screened in more than 30 film festivals such as Hamburg Short IFF, Jihlava Documentary IFF, Tirana IFF, Bosphorus IFF, Calcutta IFF, Vilnius IFF, Beijing Short IFF, etc.
So Akvile is currently producing her first feature documentary after a string of successful short doc films. ARTISOKAI aims for strong experiential storytelling.
