I'm a Hamburg based independent filmmaker, producer and cinematographer, born in Bolzano, Italy. After a BA degree in journalism at the University in Salzburg, I studied film and visual communication at the Academy of Fine Arts in Hamburg (HfbK) with professor Wim Wenders and Pepe Danquart. I'm interested in evolving audio-visual contents questioning the own perception of reality by dealing with realities beyond the own social cosmos. In 2012 three friends and I founded the art collective YOVO! YOVO! that brought us to West Africa, in the UAE and to Morocco. In 2013 I founded the film production company Against Reality Pictures with two film colleagues based in Hamburg. My debut film The Fifth Point of the Compass received several nominations and prizes at international film festivals i.a. the VisioniDOC Award 2019. In 2017 I received the Gerd-Ruge-Grant of the state NRW for documentary film and in 2020 the Grenzgänger-Grant from Robert Bosch Stiftung for my current film project.
