Natasha Blatsiou

Natasha Blatsiou is a journalist, filmmaker and producer based in Athens, Greece. She has worked extensively as a local producer and collaborator for feature stories and more than 30 TV documentaries for international media. Her awarded fiction stories have appeared in Greek publications. After completing her BA in International and European Economics and her MSc in International Relations and Strategy, she worked as a consultant before turning into journalism. In 2014 she attended the documentary summer school of NTFS, London and directed her first short film, Islanders. In 2015 she was appointed deputy editor-in-chief of Greece Is, a new travel-oriented outlet established by the Kathimerini media group (which has a publishing partnership with the International New YorkTimes). Her collaboration as a scriptwriter with the photographer/director Nikos Pilos for the trilogy Dying for Europe has won them more than 15 international awards, amongst them World Press Photo 2017, POYi 2016, IPA 2016 and MIFA 2016, GMFF 2019 (organised by IOM).
