Mariëtte Faber

Mariëtte Faber holds a Master's Degree in Japanese language and culture but has since diverted her interest to all things Chinese where she has lived from 1999 to 2004. This experience has led her to change her career from advertising to filmmaking. Her first long form documentary Electric Shadows dealt with identity issues of 2nd and 3rd generation Chinese living in The Netherlands. Mariëtte is director of independent television programs for e.g. Chinese Radio & Television in The Netherlands, Multicultural Television Netherlands as well as commercial film assignments. Mariëtte works as film editor for documentary programs and current affairs programs for national Dutch TV.
