Birgit Oberkofler
IDM Head of Film Commission (IT)

Birgit Oberkofler has been the Head of IDM Film Fund & Commission in Bolzano, South Tyrol, Italy, since May 2017. Before this, she spent several years in charge of a wide range of training opportunities for film professionals and she worked as a funding consultant for the South Tyrolean Film Fund & Commission. Birgit started her career as a PR and marketing manager, she studied tourism management at the Free University of Bozen-Bolzano and the Università degli Studi dell’Insubria in Como, Italy. She also holds a Master of Business Administration degree (MBA) from the Management Center Innsbruck (MCI), Austria. She studied at Boston College in the US and Cranfield University in the UK, as part of her MBA programme. She is an active member of the Italian Film Commission, European Woman’s Audiovisual Network – EWA, WiFT&M Woman in Film, Television & Media Italia, and EUFCN, she is a member of the European Film Academy, an EAVE Producers Workshop alumni 2019, and a board member of CineRegio.
