The film "Domingo Domingo" - developed at ESoDoc 2021 by Laura García Andreu - will be screened on Sunday, October 22 at the Human Rights Film Festival Inconvenient Films in Vilnius, a long-lasting partner of ESoDoc.
The team will also be present for a Q&A session after the screening.
The film reveals the portrait of Domingo (Sunday in Spanish), an extroverted farmer and a go-getter who doesn’t know how to live without adrenaline. Now, he has a new obsession: oranges. However, he knows that everything has changed. Oranges don’t belong to farmers anymore. Big corporations have started patenting the best orange varieties and are forcing farmers to buy them. But Domingo is not one of those who kneels in front of anyone. In fact, he has a perfect plan: a secret tree where he is growing a new variety of oranges – it could be the best one ever. If he wins the game, he will achieve his goals: to beat the big corporations, to make a fortune selling the patent, and to enjoy every day of his life like it was a Sunday.
The film premiered in the competition section of the Thessaloniki Film Festival 2023.
