On The Way

The film portrays tourists walking towards a mountain lake. As seasons shift, so do generations of hikers. The whole nation marches on a smooth asphalt road in the middle of a national park. All around is the everpresent nature, the parallel hero of this story. It’s the most popular tourist trail in Poland - it covers 8 kilometres and takes around 3 hours to reach its goal - Morskie Oko, one of the most beautiful lakes in Europe. The leading narrators are a mountain guide, who leads a group of tourists providing a historical context and a nature lover, who ponders the state of the wildlife in the era of a human-driven destruction. Is a peaceful coexistence of all those human and non-human species still possible?
