ESoDoc 2024 Awards

The final residential session of ESoDoc 2024 took place this week in Vilnius, in partnership with the Inconvenient Films Human Rights Film Festival. During the festival's award ceremony, also three other ESoDoc partners awarded 3 participants and their projects. 

All awards include the participation to the partners events, opening the doors to the industry to our projects, which have been developed for the past 6 months at our workshop: 

WEMW Award

Logline: 10 years after the Yezidi genocide, the old village of Besiri is still home to several families who are seeking asylum. The village is also in the memories of those who spent there years during their migration journey. A tale of resilience, diaspora, collective memory and identity challenges.

When East Meets West is a market event for authors and producers who work on projects which enables the communication between East and West. The event brings together over 400 producers, financiers, decision makers and film professionals from more than 30 countries.

 

Movies That Matter Award

Logline: Hannah, a film director returns to a Slovak village in Serbia to make a play about belonging, with local actors Kinez and Marina. In the process, the three of them expose the doubts we all face as adults still trying to find our place in a big world.

Movies that Matter screens and promotes films that draws our attention to human rights and situations in which these are at stake.

 

FIFDH Award

Impact Days is the FIFDH’s professional programme for filmmakers and NGOs, that aims at working with filmmakers to refine their impact goals, and at facilitating partnerships within the vast ecosystem of organisations, policymakers and funders active around International Geneva.
