Guests participants in Vilnius

The next phase of ESoDoc 2024 will be taking place from September 26 to October 7 (online) and from October 11 to 18 in Vilnius, in partnership with the Human Rights Film Festival Inconvenient Films.

Thanks to our partnership, we have selected 2 filmmakers who will join the whole phase, culminating with the public pitch that will take place in Vilnius on October 15 and 16. Here are the two selected professionals and their projects.

iaroshevych gannaGanna Iaroshevych - Ukraine

Director Ganna Iaroshevych works as a film director and editor in Ukraine. She has a BA in Journalism, and an MA in Creative Media Practice. In 2016 Ganna completed one-year course in documentary directing at The Sergey Bukovsky Film Program. Since 2014, Ganna has been working for Babylon’13 as a film director and editor. She has completed 14 short documentaries for their YouTube channel, and some of them were selected for national film festivals and cinema screenings. “As far as possible” is her debut feature-length documentary that was released in 2021, the film has been screened at several international film festivals and has won awards. Since 2022 Ganna mainly works as an editor for independent film projects. She edited the documentary You Know It's Going to Be About War (dir. Olha Tsybulska). The film participated in the ESoDoc program in Tromsø/Sommarøy in summer 2022.

In war-time Ukraine, a Danish urbanist Mikael proposes a Nordic therapy garden as a healing solution for a nation in a psychological crisis. Will this green space offer genuine hope, or is it a well-intentioned illusion?

 

marcinkeviciute agneAgne Marcinkeviciute - Lithuania

Agne Marcinkeviciute has received MA degree from TV directing at Lithuanian Music Academy. Since 1999 she has written and directed two short films and two full length feature films and over 25 documentaries. The main role actress Neringa Varnelytė of the “Name in the Dark“ was nominated for 7th Lithuanian Film and TV “Silver Crane” Best actress Award. “Unknown Treasures” (“Lobis”), feature for children and family was nominated for the best production design award in the Lithuanian Film and TV “Silver Crane” Awards 2022, selected for Schlingel, Juniorfest, Vittorio international film festivals.

2008 Lithuanian Art Creators’ Association laureate diploma for professional excellence, revealing precious historical, cultural, and most of human values.
2016 Lithuanian Filmmakers Union Certificate for a powerful and professional cinematic portrait of an exceptional personality.
