Elena Stoycheva

Elena Stoycheva works in the fields of cultural heritage, socially engaged art and documentary film. Her current position at the NGO Ideas Factory allows her to coordinate initiatives like the artistic Baba residency and to immerse into local communities in distant depopulating villages. She is developing different projects like an Archi-vlog about rural architectural heritage, or the Open Wardrobes photographic study of grannies' handmade collections.

Originally she studied architecture in Berlin and worked as a project manager of participatory workshops in Austria, gathering people`s ideas for future place development. She came back to Bulgaria in 2019, with the dream to work for culture and nature protection and use film as her method of expression. Now she is studying film directing at the New Bulgarian University and developing own documentary film projects.
