Born in Barcelona in 1987, Sergi Cameron is a director, screenwriter, producer, and professor of creative documentary at UPF, ESCAC, and ECAM. He has worked professionally as an editor, composer, creative director, and director of transmedia and interactive projects. For two years, he led the Entertainment Department at PlayGround as editorial director and producer, combining the most irreverent viral content with high-impact social and political campaigns. He is the co-director of Nanouk Films, where he made his directorial debut with ‘Bugarach’ (Fipresci Award 2014). As a producer, his films have been awarded and selected at over one hundred international festivals, including the Grand Jury Prize at Locarno for ‘Dead Slow Ahead’ and his latest work as a director, ‘Niños somos todos,’ featuring El Niño de Elche, which premiered internationally in Thessaloniki and won Best National Documentary at the In-Edit Festival, the Grand Jury Prize at the Asolo Art Film Festival, the Jury Prize at Porto's Post/Doc, and Best Original Soundtrack at the Gaudí Awards. As a producer, his recent documentaries include ‘Fauna,’ which premiered at Visions du Réel and Hotdocs, winning Best Direction at the Guadalajara Festival, Best Documentary at Cinespaña Toulouse, a special jury mention at the Ulsan Korean Festival, the In Vivo Award at the Imagine Science Film Festival in the USA, and two awards at the Outdocs International Festival of China, making it the first Catalan production acquired by the US public broadcaster PBS. Another notable work is ‘Hágase tu voluntad,’ which premiered in Thessaloniki and won the Jury Prize at DocsBarcelona. He is also the producer and co-creator of the fiction series ‘This is not Sweden,’ winner of the Prix Europa and the Best Performance award at Cannes Series.
